Special Inspections and Design was honored to be a part of the team that won a 2018 AGC Keystone Award for the Olin Library transformation at Washington University. During the two-story, 30,000 square foot underground expansion, the existing piers ended above where the as-built drawings specified. We were brought in to assist Alberici with the temporary shoring of the existing building (while the building was still in use) as the old concrete piers were removed and new steel columns were installed.
