Washington University 560 Parking Garage

The 71,000+ square foot parking garage is four stories tall and provides 204 parking spaces. It services the 560 Music Center, Washington University’s Department of Music, and the Center of Creative Arts Performing Center. Special Inspections & Design provided special inspections for the concrete of the new garage. Inspections were conducted for the erected/installed precast concrete members that comprise the columns, ramps, parking slabs, shear walls, stair towers, and elevator shaft of the parking structure. Tasks included reviewing contractor's proposed erection sequencing for precast placement and connection weld out; providing solutions to irregular bracing configurations; and visual observation of completed member orientation for adequate bearing, joint fit up, and global stability.
