Design & detailing of structural steel stairs, landings, & guardrails.
Special Inspections & Design provided structural engineering services for the construction of numerous steel stairs, landings, and guardrails. Experience ranges from unique and ornate monumental stairs to traditional stair towers. SID’s services have included designing and detailing the structural members and connections; designing the structure to meet stringent deflection requirements; designing custom connections to conceal structural fasteners; reviewing steel shop drawings; and coordinating with the fabricator and erector to address field changes.
